Pick up a copy of the Nelson Art Guide - you can journey from Nelson to Golden Bay, taking in every artisan the region has to offer. Meet the artists, visit their workshops and studios and even try your hand at creating your own glass beads or ceramics. Seeing their work in context and having a chat with the artists themselves is a privilege. And there's no better way to be informed about the piece you want to buy - providing a unique memory of your visit as well as something to 'feed the soul'.

Basing yourself at Bay Crest Motor Lodge is a brilliant way to explore Nelson's creative essence. As well as being handy to access the wider region, it's a stone's throw from the amazing World of Wearable Art (see below) and a two minute drive into the city.
